Charter

The PGOLID was formed by order of the Otter Tail County Commission under Minnesota statute in 1994, and as amended in December 2001.

Below is the Original Order Establishing the Pelican Group of Lakes Improvement District (PGOLID).  It was originally included in the minutes of the Thursday, December 27, 2001 meeting of the Otter Tail County Board Of Commissioners. (requires Adobe Acrobat reader — download reader software)

WHERE WE ARE

The Pelican Group of Lakes is located in Otter Tail County, approximately 13 miles south of Detroit Lakes, and encompasses four lakes: Pelican, Little Pelican, Bass, and Fish.

WHO WE ARE

We are a lake improvement district, which means we are a taxing entity through the county. PGOLID was formed to identify, quantify, study, and manage water resources as to preserve quality.
