Chapter 9: Lake Water Quality

9.3 Fish Lake

Fish Lake is 261 acres with a maximum depth of 69 feet. The south side of the lake is occupied by dense wetlands.

9.3.1 Water Clarity

Fish Lake has been monitored from 2003-2007. Fish Lake has an average Secchi depth of 12 feet.

9.3.2 Chlorophyll A

Fish Lake has an average chlorophyll-a concentration of 4.6 ug/L, below the average for other lakes in the ecoregion.

9.3.3 Total Phosphorous

Fish Lake has an average TP of 0.012 mg/L (12 ppb), below the average for other lakes in the ecoregion.

9.3.4 Trophic State Index

Average TSI ratings are based on TSI values for ChlA, TP, and Secchi disk. Fish Lake's average TSI is 40. Fish Lake has the best water quality in the Pelican Group of Lakes, and is on the borderline between oligotrophic and mesotrophic.
