8.4.2 Stroms Bridge The Pelican River is the highest contributor of phosphorus to the Pelican Group of Lakes ( see graphs ). Little Pelican Lake acts as somewhat of a buffer to Big Pelican Lake. Stroms Bridge is the site where Little Pelican Lake connects to Big Pelican Lake. Water samples are taken at this location to see what is directly entering Big Pelican Lake.
Fecal Coliform There are no known major sources of fecal coliform bacteria along the connection from Little Pelican Lake to Big Pelican Lake. Fecal Coliform Bacteria concentration levels have always remained in the safe, below 200 FC/100ml level. Due to the relatively low levels, this test was dropped from analyses in 2007. FC concentration ranges between 0 and 40 FC/100ml, which could be due to waterfowl. view graphs Flow The Pelican River at Stroms Bridge outputs 0 to 150 cfs of water from Little Pelican to Big Pelican Lake. view graphs |
