Chapter 6: Minor Watershed Inventory

6.3 Pelican River Minor Watersheds

The Pelican River watershed is composed of three minor watersheds that all flow into Little Pelican Lake. The major contributing watershed is the Pelican River that flows from lakes Sallie and Melissa. The minor watersheds include a stream from Lakes Eunice and Maud and a stream originating at a marsh near the Vergas Trails. The north and west streams have a sandy bottom with few aquatic weeds.

Pelican River watershed 56008 is mostly open water containing lakes Melissa and Sallie. Agriculture and deciduous forest accounts for the largest portions of land use.
