Chapter 6: Minor Watershed Inventory

6.2 Spring Creek Watershed

Spring Creek flows south from lakes Ida and Cormorant into Pelican Lake. Dams at the Ida and Cormorant outlets control the creeks flow. The streams from the outlets connect near 15823 Sherbrooke Road and flow south to Pelican Lake. The majority length of the stream has a muck bottom with spots of sand and gravel. The stream is generally surrounded by dense wetlands. There is an unnamed lake in between Spring Creek outlet and 15823 Sherbrooke Road that has a depth of approximately 13 feet. Water from the Cormorant outlet flows into a series of unnamed lakes to Cormorant Village. After the Village the stream is condensed through a culvert underneath the town. Ida outlet flows into dense wetlands and connects to Spring Creek through a culvert under Sherbrooke Road.

Spring Creek watershed is mostly composed of open water with the majority of the land being used for agriculture.
